What We Grow

Three crops are in the ground at Eppalock. None of them are ready yet. Here's what they are, what they taste like, and roughly when we expect them.

Finger Lime

Citrus caviar — hundreds of tiny juice beads that pop rather than run. Lime and grapefruit at once. Our best-performing planting, and our first crop. Two to three years away.

Boobialla

Sold as native juniper. A small purple-black berry with a piney note that distillers use in gin, and an astringency that suits jams and preserves. Growing faster than anything else here. Likely our second crop.

Mountain Pepper

Not pepper, and better than the name suggests — a fruity, deep purple berry with a slow, spreading heat. Four rows under a shadecloth roof, after we lost more than half of the first planting. The one we think has the most ahead of it.
